Pete and Marj Hendy

Pete and Marj come from the Cotswolds and are well known on the folk dance scene. They have called widely at clubs, festivals and for dance weekends.
They have a long and close association with Halsway Manor and with the continued development of the teenage Downfielders Band that Pete started twenty years ago.
With their great sense of fun and their organisational ability, they return to create another memorable event at Halsway. |
Chris is well known throughout the English folk dance community as a caller, musician, folk singer, choreographer, dance teacher and editor of ‘Set Turn and Single’ magazine. Widely admired for his sartorial elegance and colour co-ordination, he has performed at most of the country’s leading folk festivals and is a popular leader of courses at the Manor. Chris’s wife Elaine Chris’s wife and a Halsway Manor Trustee, loves to extend to others her joy in country dancing. She will be on hand with a ready smile to encourage everyone to take part and enjoy themselves

Moira Gutteridge plays fiddle and harp with her husband Peter in their band ‘Dampier's Round’. As well as playing for dances and festivals, including Litchfield, Eastbourne and Sidmouth Moira has been a folk camp musician, running music workshops on several occasions.
Peter Gutteridge plays guitar, bass guitar and flute in Dampier’s Round and also runs folk camps and festival workshops. He worked for the BBC as an electronics engineer and was sound engineer for NYFTE as well as for the Dampier's Round CD. |
