with Chris Turner & Barefoot |
Chris Turner is well known throughout the English folk dance community as a caller, musician, folk singer, choreographer, dance teacher and editor of ‘Set Turn and Single’ magazine. Widely admired for his sartorial elegance and colour co-ordination, he has performed at most of the country’s leading folk festivals and is a popular leader of courses at the Manor. Chris’s wife Elaine Norman, a Halsway Manor Trustee and Director and country dancing enthusiast, also joins us for the weekend

Barefoot are Bill (bones and whistle), Kevin (accordion/melodeon) and Meg (guitar and percussion) who formed a few years ago when they discovered that making music with each other was fun. This weekend they are joined by Lesley on occasional shaky egg and mopping of fevered brows. They have been supporters of Halsway for many years – one first played there in 1969, three are on the Halsway Millennium CD and one lent his parents to do the garden. They are delighted to return to the Manor for a another all singing dancing Members’ Weekend
and hope you dance your socks off again. |
