   <title>BOOKING NOW OPEN:  Violin Bow making 30th Nov to 5th December 2008</title>

   <description>Tutor: Christopher J Halstead&lt;br>&lt;br>Christopher worked and trained with Richard Wilson in Cambridge and Didier Claudel in France before setting up his own workshop in 1997. &lt;br>&lt;br>He works as a full time bow maker and repairer in Sheffield and has also been teaching violin bow-making in summer schools for the last ten years&lt;br>&lt;br>In addition to the cost of tuition and accommodation there will be an extra charge to cover materials such as bow wood billet, semi manufactured frog, bow hair etc and is likely to be between about £140 to £200 and will depend upon the type of bow that you wish to make. &lt;br>&lt;br>As well as modern bows for the violin family of instruments (i.e. violin, viola, cello, double bass) it is also possible to make a Baroque bow. The type of bow you wish to make will need to be stated on the booking form. &lt;br>&lt;br>The class size will be limited to a maximum of five in order to ensure good supervision. </description>

   <description>The aim of this weekend is to have a leisurely look at some of the dances and tunes that are published in the book called “The Playford Ball – 103 Early English Country Dances” by Kate Van Winkle Keller and Genevieve Shimer. &lt;br>&lt;br>Dancers will be encouraged to each bring one or two of the dances that they feel confident to explain to the others. There will be a dance co-ordinator and also a musician available to play for the dance workshop.&lt;br>&lt;br>&lt;br>Musicians who attend the weekend will be able to practise the tunes separately and be supported by Peter and Susan Swann who will be co-ordinating the music workshop. Whilst the dancers practise the dances the musicians will be practising the tunes.</description>
