Appointment of new Chief Officer

Halsway Manor Society has appointed Sarah Knight as their new Chief Officer.

Sarah has worked for 28 years in the arts and cultural sector, including for Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the South Bank Centre and at the Arts Council.

She holds a Masters degree in music and her career has included teaching and performing professionally on flute and piano.

On her appointment Sarah said "I am absolutely delighted to be joining Halsway Manor at this developmental stage in its long history. As a West Somerset resident I know of their popular folk dance weekends and Halsway's tremendous importance to the British folk scene. I am very much looking forward to working in such a beautiful building and enhancing their national reputation further".

Dick Little, Chairman of Halsway Manor added "Sarah's appointment marks an important milestone in the development of Halsway's work. We want to open the doors to new and younger audiences and bring more nationally-known folk artists to Somerset. We are confident that Sarah's experience working at national and local levels will help us to strengthen our links with the local community, build on our successful programme of courses and create exciting times ahead at Halsway"
